We had our official first meeting of the Gateway Branch of the QDMA on October 19th at the Powder Valley Conservation facility. There were over 60 people in attendance and we hope that you all had a great time.

Lonnie Hansen, senior biologist of the Missouri Department of Conservation, presented a short seminar on how Missouri has previously managed the deer herd and how they will do it in the near future. Thank you Lonnie for you time and efforts!

Faron Huster, president of the Gateway Branch, spoke about conservation and deer hunting in Missouri. He hopes to guide this branch in many ways to forward QDM in Missouri.
We were able to raffle off a Weatherby Vanguard rifle, chambered in 270wsm. Raffles are one way to raise branch funds for future seminars and classes. Mr. Raffert, who was in attendance at the meeting, won the rifle and was extremely happy to have the good fortune.

Please look forward to upcoming seminars and banquets
